Merry Christmas! We will attempt to make these updates rather daily now. Above you’ll see our nifty tab table beginning to come to life, but it’s far far far from perfect – once the window opens it should be much more complete.

BREAKING NEWS today is that last season’s top scorer Jonathan has gone. Suwon Samsung have sold the Brazilian to CSL side Tianjin TEDA for a transfer fee of around 6 million USD, a record for a foreigner and perhaps a K League record (Kim Ki-hee was sold for a similar fee to the CSL two seasons ago). Jonathan bagged 22 goals last season and was renowned for professing his love for Korea (pushing even to be naturalized, a highly unlikely but somewhat enticing proposition), but he’s followed the money to sign for Uli Stielike Tianjin.

YES, Uli Stielike, ruining Korean football yet again. There you have it.

Earlier in the week, Ulsan Hyundai seems to have hijacked the Bluewings and acquired the services of former Borussia Dortmund left-back Park Joo-ho.

And they are reportedly also in the hunt for Mike Havenaar, a Japanese centre forward (think a tall target man) as well as the speedy left midfielder Hwang Il-soo. Ulsan are making some good moves early in the window, but will have to deal without Lee Jong-ho after a cruciate injury will see him miss 6 months.

We’ll add more in the morning!

It is December 12th 2017 and this is your K League transfer update. No guarantees on the frequency of these updates, but they will happen.

Though it doesn’t have a major impact on the K League itself, Gwangju U-18’s prospect Kim Jung-min signed a deal to go to Red Bull Salzburg today. Kim, often compared to Ki Sung-yueng, featured in The Guardian’s top 50 young players to watch in 2017.

The big rumor in recent days is that Tianjin TEDA are preparing a blockbuster deal to bring Suwon Samsung striker Jonathan to the CSL. The Brazilian was the top scorer in the 2017 K League season, scoring 22 goals.

Going the other way, after Eder left Jeonbuk, rumor has it that the K League champions are interested to fill that vacant foreign slot with several CSL players, including former Newcastle star Papiss Cissé.

Older news suggests the champions were close to a deal for Tiago Alves from Al-Hilal. Tiago was superb in his half-season at Seongnam in 2016 before being lured with a move abroad mid-season. Nothing has been heard since that rumor resurged late November.

Meanwhile, Suwon Samsung are in talks to bring Park Joo-ho back to the team. Park was released by Borussia Dortmund several weeks ago after the leftback spent over a year out of the BVB squad.

Other rumors and confirmed deals can be found above.
