KPA Middle East Listings – Oct 24-27 2014

Don’t worry, this won’t be a recurring segment on the Tavern, but just to appease all those Park Chu-Young fanatics out there. Short and sweet.

And despite all the hype about Park Chu-Young’s goal, everyone forgot/didn’t care that two other Koreans scored in the Middle East last weekend. Cho Young-Chul scored in a losing cause, a 3-2 defeat at the hands of El-Jaish (LKH’s team), while over in Qatar, Nam Tae-Hee scored a late winner, his 4th goal of the season, for Lekhwiya. Here’s a video clip.

(On a separate note, might as well take this chance to mention and sort of pay my respects to Cpl Cerillo and Officer Vincent who both died this week in the attacks on Canada’s National War Memorial, the Canadian Parliament, and on an intentional crash off of a Quebec highway. It’s pretty scary to think that Canada, a country that has been spared of terrorist attacks over the last decade or so, was attacked by extremists in two separate incidents, killing two soldiers, but knowing that it could have been much, much worse. RIP & God Bless.)

  1. Hey – thanks for posting this – I might even dare try to find a stream of PCY’s game w/ Al Shabab on Friday. Thanks also for enlightening on CYC and NTH scoring – Nam’s was a nice bit of work. And echo that sentiment – my condolences to both officers and their families.
