Week listings and previews for our Korean Players Abroad. Our Koreans had another great week, with Son Heung-Min back from his injury and Ji Dong-Won scoring again. Can’t wait for the World Cup Qualifiers against Myanmar and Laos next week. On the side note, this month’s FIFA rankings came out we are now ranked 48th in the world and 2nd in AFC. Finally we are in top 50.

Sunday 11:30 AM Koo Ja-Cheol Augsburg Werder Bremen

I don’t expect Ryu Seung-Woo will be making the squad list this week. Poor Ryu, I hope he makes good use of his time during International Week with the Olympic team.

Kim Jin-Su started last week, he should start this week against Frankfurt.

Yun Suk-Young is back from his injury, he has been gaining some playing time with the U21 team. He should make squad list this week.

Ki Sung-Yueng should start against Norwich City.

Park Joo-Ho has been lacking confidence when playing for Borussia Dortmund. I expect a bench appearance for him this week.

Lee Chung-Yong suffered a minor knock when playing with the U21 team this week, I expect a bench appearance against Liverpool this week.

Son Heung-Min returns from his injury, and was subbed on playing against Anderlecht in the Europa League. Son Heung-Min also provided an assist to Mousa Dembele’s winning goal.

Hong Jeong-Ho sustained an injury against Mainz last week, he will be out until the winter break.

Koo Ja-Cheol should start against Werder Bremen this week.

Ji Dong-Won scores again, this time it’s in the Europa League. Augsburg won 4-1 against Az Alkmaar. I expect he will start this week against Werder Bremen.

Tavern Owner interupting: Hwang Hee-Chan Red Bull Salzburg/on loan to Liefering is lighting it up in Austria, just scored a goal this afternoon (I’m writing as of Friday afternoon Nov 6) – but this video, from Tuesday, shows Hwang with some impressive skills and clinical finishing. His brace was enough to win it for Liefering 2-1 – check it out:
