- Wonderkid Lee Seung-Woo has signed a new five-year deal with Barcelona, effectively ending any speculation that he may move abroad with a number of Premier League teams supposedly interested.
- Over at ESPN FC, Richard Jolly picked each Premier League team’s best player through the first half of the season, and he selected Ki Sung-Yueng as Sunderland’s best player. Mr. Jolly noted that Ki has “added intelligence and energy to the midfield,” and was “particularly influential in their . . . 1-0 win over Manchester City.”
- More Vincent Tan news, the Cardiff owner has decided to add another team to his collection, as he has purchased Bosnian club, Sarajevo. Tan told local media that the clubs (Sarajevo and Cardiff) will “play friendly games, exchange players, organise joint training camps and marketing campaigns.” Sarajevo currently sit in 2nd place in the Bosnian Premier League.
- German magazine Kicker has reported that Koo Ja-Cheol has told Wolfsburg that he wants to leave the club in January. Koo reportedly wants more playing time and to return to his more standard attacking midfield role. Mainz 05 (where Park Joo-Ho plays) is reportedly the club closest to securing Koo as the club has been attempting to sign him for awhile now.
- In other transfer rumors, Han Kook-Young is apparently receiving many “love calls” from teams in Japan and Europe. Han’s Shonan Bellmare club was relegated to the J2 League at the end of the season. FC Tokyo, Kashiwa Reysol, Sagan Tosu (all Japan), Celtic, Freiburg, St. Pauli, and Brussels are all apparently interested.
It’s good for Koo to go to Mainz while Han Kook Young should go to Freiburg. So Lee Seung Woo signed a 5 year contract with Barcelona while the other Koreans at La Masia didn’t?
