BREAKING: Suk Hyun Jun loaned to Trabzonspor

Since the new manager of Porto Nuno Santo took over it was pretty clear that Suk was not going to be a regular starter for Porto, with Nuno opting for Porto B players such as Andre Silva over Suk. Initially SHJ had won the starting FW spot over Aboubakar, but with all the managerial changes going on, SHJ has dropped down in the pecking order possibly to 4th option.

But good news! The Epic Journey of Suk Hyun Jun will continue, this time in Turkey. Trabzonspor are currently a mid table Turkish team that could definitely use some firepower up front, and honestly, if SHJ excels there (and especially if he wins a medal) he should just stay there for two-three years, get a little more consistent, then move onto bigger sights.

There is also reportedly a buy out option in the loan as well.

Porto’s official website has confirmed as well: here’s a decent google translate (The GAME is actually El Jogo, the Portugese news source)

“Suk will represent Trabzonspor next season. Negotiations between FC Porto and Turkish club, reported yesterday by The GAME, resulted in an agreement for the South Korean loan until 30 June 2017. The financial arguments thrown on the table were one of the reasons that convinced the Pinto Costa give “yes” to the Turks, who agreed to pay about 800,000 euros for the cession and yet all the advanced salary. The team of Trabzon (Northeastern Turkey) tried to include in the business a purchase option, in order to be able to hire the player at the end of the loan period, but FC Porto refused, since, due to youth Suk, prefer to assess their evolution before radically break the connection.”
