Park Chu-Young: Likely Starter Today Against Sevilla

Oct 5, 2012

Park Chu-Young is looking very likely to start his second match for Celta Vigo in today’s La Liga clash at home against Sevilla [game start is 9:30 pm in Vigo, 3:30 Eastern Standard Time in the US and 4:30 am Korea Time].  Sevilla is going to be a challenging opponent, having beaten Real Madrid earlier in the season and nearly defeating Barcelona in a contested match with controversial officiating.  Santiago Perez, who Tavern has featured earlier for his jaw dropping on-the-ground-blogging about Chu-Young and Celta Vigo on a daily basis, has his match preview on his Rainmaker18.com site here.  [Note: Congratulations to Santiago; he netted a position with SportalKorea to report about Park Chu-Young for the Korean masses on the other-other side of the pond. His first article for SportalKorea was published Wednesday. This is what I love about international blogging and these amazing connections that are forged in almost no time. Definitely more Gaelicia and Korea connecting to come].

The exciting coverage news for US based Tavern followers is today’s game will be on the BeInSport network. Currently the Al Jazeerra based network is available on Dish, DirecTV and Comcast. The Washington Post reports that BeInSport is about to announce another big network  — The Tavern suspects Verizon is next to pick up the channel. BeInSport now has rights for LaLiga, Ligue1, SerieA and the English N-Power Championship League.

[UPDATE: 5:30 pm EST  Celta Vigo won 2-0 against Sevilla. Iago Aspas with a 58th converted PK and DeLucas with a 85th min header. Park Chu-Young had 2 scoring opportunities in the first half. Subbed out in the 57th minute. Not a bad performance, but not flawless from PCY.  Executed a very odd though ball on a 44th minute set piece flub that looked like a good opportunity wasted. With the win, Celta Vigo temporarily moves into the top 10 of the La Liga Table. They have earned an impressive 9 points so far.  More details as well as preview of Koreans seeing action this weekend in Europe later today.]
