No Watching this Weekend Review (4-20/22)

죄송합니다 (jwisonghamnida). Sorry, I wasn’t able to wake up and watch either of my proposed matches this weekend. Have been battling a cold and fatigue, and my body just couldn’t take short sleep, watch match, go to work for 8 hours (due to time differences both matches fell on weekdays), take care of baby for 6 hours, and then another short sleep. Will do better next weekend since I’m feeling better now. A short recap of the two matches though (from what I’ve read from match reports).

Borussia M’Gladbach vs Augsburg

Gladbach won this one, 1-0. Augsburg went down to 10 men early when Kevin Vogt was sent off in the 26th minute. Filip Daems converted the resulting penalty, and that was all she wrote. Ji Dong-Won started and played the full 90. Augsburg remains in 16th, 3 points behind Dusseldorf for the final safety spot.

Celta Vigo vs Real Zaragoza

Park Chu-Young was again on the bench with Abel Resino selecting Mario Bermejo from the start (as was expected). Both teams badly needed the points, as they are both in the relegation zone. Zaragoza took the lead through Cristian Sapunaru, but Vigo leveled with Alex Lopez. Park Chu-Young came on as a late sub in the 78th minute, but his only contribution was to pick up a yellow card. Resino’s selection of Bermejo instead of Park seems to have been the correct choice as Bermejo scored the winner in stoppage time. Vigo are now 19th on 27 points (ahead of Zaragoza on head-to-head results), and are 2 points behind Granada for the final safety spot.

    • I don’t think he will either, at least no meaningful minutes. Aspas will return to the starting XI, and I think I saw that Park had picked up a small injury. I think he’ll only come on if there’s a massive need to just throw as many attackers on as possible.

      • yeah. plus he used to be Aspas’ sub. These last four matches have established Bermejo as Aspas’ sub. He’s the third striker now.
