Moving onto the K-League Classic, just 4 matches as FC Seoul and Jeonbuk are off in order to prepare for their midweek ACL quarterfinal matches. Suwon Bluewings are still periously close to the relegation zone, Jeonnam are right there with them only a mere point ahead. A preview of their clash on K-League United here.

At the Tavern, we’re still all in recovery mode from the Olympics. We may have more post Olympic reaction to Korea’s QF exit, but you might have caught the semifinal scoreline: Brazil 6 : 0 Honduras. Ouch!  Germany and Brazil are in the gold medal match on Saturday.

It’s not all bad news with the exit – have to take it in stride considering some fantastic hard work, lessons learned, some moments of brilliance and great results against Fiji, Germany and Mexico to top Group C. A medal wasn’t in the cards, but for a number of players on this squad, there’s still a bright trajectory should they continue to improve and play their cards right. Dae han min guk and have fun this weekend.
