With Hwangbo Kwan on the way out, the KFA has named Lee Yong-Soo as the next chairman of their Technical Committee.
Lee Yong-Soo profile
– Head of KFA Future Strategic Planning board (~2013)
– Sports professor at Sejong University (~2002)
– Commentator for KBS (~1996)
– Head of KFA Technical Committee (2000-2002)
– Member of KFA Technical Committee (1997-1998)
With this post filled, the committee will begin to formally pursue coaching options for the next senior men’s national team manager.
P.S. The KFA also denied any claims made by Scottish media about their final list of candidates for the position.
i know nothing, dan cho.
The KFA is banking on the fact that he was a part of the success in 2002 as he was the head of the technical committee then (that appointed Guus Hiddink). He’s someone who’s been around the KFA for awhile, so a bit mixed perhaps. On the one hand he seems to know what to do, but on the other he could be another “KFA old boy” unwilling to really shake things up there. Remember, even after the manager is appointed the technical committee is supposed to continue to assist the manager with opposition scouting reports and tactical recommendations. The current committee received a fair bit of criticism for their part of the team’s poor preparation for Brazil.
