It’s the first leg of the Champions League playoffs and some more Championship action today. Bayer Leverkusen travel to Denmark where Cardiff flop Cornelius and FC Kobenhavn await them. Son Heung-Min will get the start. Over in the Championship, there’s some Tuesday action.
All of these fixtures start in the next hour, sorry for the late notice.
[table “” not found /]Son Heung-Min will get the start in Denmark, he scored a goal and played some 30-odd minutes in a DFL-Pokal game last weekend. Kiessling, who also gets the start, played 60 minutes in that 6-0 German Cup rout and had 5 goals.
Leno, Spahić, Boenisch, Ömer Toprak, Donati, Rolfes, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Castro, Bellarabi, Son Heung-Min, Kiessling SUBS: Krešić, Jedvaj, Wendell, Reinartz, Öztunali, Drmic, Brandt.
This is the first leg of two against the Danish side – if they can prevail on aggregate, Bayer Leverkusen will be playing Champions League football this year, under their new boss, Roger Schmidt. If they lose (and they are favorites, mind you) then it will be the Europa League group stage instead.
This tweet, showing the team sheets, seems to indicate he will play on the left side today:

Over in the Championship, team news indicates that Kim Bo-Kyung is not in the squad. He is still recovering from a minor injury and hasn’t done much except play in a Capital One Cup tie this year. There will be at least one start though, as Bolton Wanderers welcome Middlesbrough, and Lee Chung-Yong in the squad for that Championship encounter at the Macron Stadium. Bolton is still in search of their first win in the second tier this season.

Come on Son!
P.S., Lee Jung-Soo and Kwak Tae-Hwi are both getting starts in their AFC CL encounters, Al-Hilal v Al-Sadd, while Lee Myeong-Joo’s Al-Ain won 2-0 earlier today against Al-Ittihad.
